The Good Wolf has touch my heart in many ways that I really did not expect. The richness of Boyd's writting makes you feel as if you are walking side by side with each character when reading. The characters are so well developed & dialogue is very fresh you relate to each character and thats what readers want. The multi genres touches you emotionally ,mentally , and spiritally. There is so much good in this book its amazing . As a student of Boyd's I am so humbled to have been apart of Randall's journey and cant wait to see whats instore for him next. Never one to read the description of a book that was referred to me I dove right in on a Saturday afternoon. The gritty page turner did not disappoint. It kept my attention until the wee hours of the next morning when I turned that last page. Filled with various characters that leave you wanting to know more about them, their backgrounds and futures. Touching on realistic situations and circumstances that any average person could experience made this book an entertaining read. Thankfully I found out there was a sequel, my inquisitive mind wants to know what happened to a few of my favorite characters! Happy Reading!

Let me begin by saying I read this book in less than 15 hours! I couldn't put it down because it was entertaining from the start. This book touched on many emotions from rolling with laughter, crying, disappointing moments and surprising ones, too. I also experienced a personal spiritual breakthrough that humbled my heart – don’t let the sultry lusty episodes get you off guard because there is a spiritual element to this book’s purpose. Boyd allows you to find compassion for each character, even the Russian girl, because his writing is gifted in that way. Everyone isn’t effective at balancing out the characters – good and bad ones – but Boyd brings things full circle. Unless you’re heartless and full of false pride, you can’t help but empathize with CRAZY Trina… If you can’t relate to at least one of these funny, crazy, sexy, smart, go-getter, down to earth folks then you missed the boat! I can’t wait to start on part 2 "Randall Whitmore" – with his sexy self!
Omg, I loved this book from the beginning to the end. The description of the characters are so vivid that I can picture how sexy everyone is and that made it so much better, lol. By the end of the book I was so happy that I had already bought part 2, otherwise I would've died having to wait until it was sent to me. I loved how it touched all different subjects and every character had its own personality. Randall seems like a great man despite his many ventures with women, I hope he finds love in part two. This book is a must read and I've already loaned mine and have been referring it to anybody that I know that likes to read. Cedric Boyd, you have amazing talent!! Let me get started on Part 2, can't wait!!!
I'm truly flabbergasted this book has 5 stars. Which leads me to believe it's possibly filled with reviews from the author's friends and family. So, why do I not recommend this book? One, the book is filled with typos (guess that's what happens when you have your 18-year-old nephew proof your book). Two, the story was predictable with zero character/plot development. Even though you can read it for free, I wouldn't bother. The Good Wolf is just bad. Simple as that.
I must admit that in the beginning I was taken aback by the graphic language and overtly descriptive sexual encounters. But I persevered, and I'm glad I did. The characters and story are reminiscent of Elmore Leonard. As I delved farther into the novel, I realized that that the language and the sex were central to the story, part of the character development and growth. Slowly I found myself being drawn into the story and identifying with the emotions and feelings of the characters. I found myself emotionally invested in the characters, I cared what happened to them. The book's conclusion, leaves the story unresolved. I am anxiously awaiting the sequel, because I want to know-what happens next?
Due to the mature themes and language content, I would only recommend this book to adult readers.
Wow! What an awesome read! The author does an absolutely wonderful job building each of the characters. It was like I was actually a part of the book. At times, Randall literally pissed me off & I actually think I was pretty close to hating him...however, it gave me a look into that reality of the mindset of someone who literally has his pick of the litter with women & job opportunities (you know, the cockiness of it all) but yet, still not fulfilled. It also showed the women's side of how they allowed themselves to be compromised in such a way that they started allowing others to be their conques
t & in essence, competed for Randall's affection or whatever in the world that was. On the other hand, it really went into the family & family-type relationships Randall had. So even though this is a fictional book, the real life issues really unfold lives full of hurt, LOTS of lust & sex, some mystery & a few unexpected twists & turns that definitely took me for a spin. Ultimately, it helped to uncover the consequences endured for so many different choices. Sex, lies & videotapes ain't got NOTHING on this book!!! Whew! I believe I need to go repent after reading that one! Wow! Great Job!
